ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT

Born in Lorient, Brittany, France in 1955, his family leave France when he is a young boy to settle in Quebec.  He has had a passion for drawing and painting since his boyhood. As a teenager, he spends most of his time drawing. It is at that time that he paints his first oil paintings as an autodidact. In the following years, he goes on practising while carrying through studies in sociology and law. In the end Art takes back a preponderant place in his life.

ARTISTIC APPROACH

By means of painting, he tries to express the best of a scene or a situation which has created a strong impression upon him or a significant emotion. Characters showing quite an expressive ability take a preponderant place in his favourite subjects.
His palette brightens as time goes by. Ochers appear and take a more important part in a large number of his paintings, whatever the subject. Having a passion for travelling and being very fond of discovering other cultures, a lot of his paintings portray characters from remote countries.

Moai

Silent witnesses

Of a fabulous destiny

Here you are forever

Petrified and mute

Yet to tell us

So many things you would have

About this extraordinary world

From time immemorial prisoner of the sea

About its life, its death

For here as anywhere else

Night follows daybreak
